India-based Oberoi is one of the world’s most exclusive hotel groups. The Oberoi story wrote its early chapters in 1934 in Shimla where Mohan Singh Oberoi pioneered the idea of luxury hospitality in India by opening his first hotel. In the following years Oberoi – assisted by his two sons – continued the expansion of his group with properties both in India and abroad. Today, the group operates 35 hotels and cruise ships in six countries under the luxury ‘Oberoi’ and five-star ‘Trident’ brand. The group still practices the hospitality philosophy that began with Mr. Oberoi himself and are now echoed by his son and current chairman Prithvi Raj Singh Obero: The guest is everything. 10. THE OBEROI NEW DELHI, INDIA
Reopened in 2018 after an extensive refurbishment, The Oberoi New Delhi hotel reflects the spirit of India’s capital city in a harmonious blend of tradition and contemporary sophistication. The property offers spacious, light-filled rooms and suites with cutting-edge technology and sweeping views of Delhi Golf Course and Humayun’s Tomb. Restaurants include Threesixty for all-day fine dining, a contemporary Indian specialty restaurant and a rooftop Chinese restaurant. There is also an open-air rooftop bar, a wine cellar and a new cigar lounge. 9. THE OBEROI ZAHRA, LUXURY NILE CRUISER, EGYPT
The Oberoi Zahra, Luxury Nile Cruiser offers the highest standards of hospitality and is amongst the most spacious accommodation on the Nile. The mutedly elegant interior of the luxury cabins and suites is complemented by expansive views of the river framed by large windows within the cabins and the en suite bathrooms. 8. THE OBEROI BEACH RESORT BALI, INDONESIA
Located on fashionable Seminyak Beach, The Oberoi Bali is spread across 15 acres of landscaped tropical gardens that are dotted with ancient Balinese temples. 3. THE OBEROI SUKHVILAS, INDIA

1. THE OBEROI MARRAKECH, MOROCCO
The Ochre City of Marrakech presents a tale of two cities. The Oberoi Hotels are a standout in the Luxury class of hotels. We have stayed at the Udaivilas and the Amarvilas—both are magical and cater to their guests in a manner fitting royalty!! Ron Holloway
Each of these spots looks awesome. The Bali hotel looks like classic Balinese design; reminds me of a place where we house sat, a large villa in Jimbaran. Rocking list!

We are cruising the Nile on the Oberoi Philae which is the Zahara’s sister ship. Our travel expert for Egypt said the ships are both fabulous. What are your thoughts?
I think you will be MOST happy. We were in Egypt three years ago and had planned on taking a Nile cruise but it came at the time of the Covid outbreak and we were reluctant to go on a ship. Best wishes for a wonderful trip. Ron

I usually agree with most lists theluxurytravelexpert makes but i’m sorry, this list is not accurate. I can say that having stayed at almost all the Oberoi properties. Oberoi Rajvilas is consistently rated as one of their best properties year after year and its not even on the top 10??? Oberoi Sukhvilas shouldn’t even be in the top 10, let alone #3! Oberoi New Delhi is their best city hotel and was rated last year as the best city hotel in all of Asia. Its far superior to the Oberoi Mumbai.
